Dark light

Cold and wet and windy as you walked along the beach,
And the sea-spray all around you keeping everything from reach.
Thoughts were inarticulate, the gusts held icy silt
Pulled up from the ocean depths – the world was on the tilt.

What was it, washed out to sea, that lay beyond your sight?
What was it you couldn’t see beyond the speckled night?
It fell beyond tomorrow and it rested ever there,
Moving with the time; holding prophecies to share.

And then tomorrow rose like a molten yellow planet.
The winds withdrew and the sea went to sleep
And as far your eyes could scan it,
The skyline was at peace.
Sweet release.
Thank you.
Yes.
